The first has to go out to all of the team who competed in the Victoria State Jiu-jitsu championships. We put in a team manly made up of white belts with many stepping up for the first time. We came back with a good haul of medals as usual with some great fights along the way to the Gold’s. Dave Broder had one of the toughest and most controversial fights due to some indecisive refereeing but he won the gold in the end. Nick and Cam both made it to the final in the same category and decided to fight for the gold with Nick coming away with the win, both won there previous fights decisively by submission. There were too many good fights to mention with other team mates coming home with medals so congratulations to all!!

Jules B. was awarded his Blue belt on Thursday in class a week after the comp after showing everyone his great Jiu-Jitsu skill. We will now be looking for some great things to come from him. He is always keen to train and help out but is also very competitive and willing to step up. He will be entering his second Shooto tournament in the not so distant future so keep your eyes open for him.

Congratulations on your well deserved new grade.
