Gi Jiu-Jitsu

The traditional foundation.

Gi BJJ uses the traditional uniform as part of the game: sleeves, lapels, and collars become tools for control, leverage, and submission. The Gi slows things down. It rewards patience, precision, and technique over physicality. It's the format you'll see at the IBJJF World Championships.

Our Gi classes cover positional control, submissions, escapes, and live rolling, all built on the warrior-style fundamentals passed down from Carlson Gracie Sr.

No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu

Faster. Lighter. Modern.

No-Gi strips the uniform away. You train in rashguard and shorts, the grips change, and the pace lifts. There's nothing to grab onto, which makes movement, balance, and timing everything.

No-Gi is the format used in submission grappling competitions (ADCC, EBI) and underpins the ground game in MMA. Many of our adult students train both Gi and No-Gi; the skills transfer in both directions.

What an adult class actually looks like.

Every class follows the same proven structure, designed so beginners can drop in cold on day one and still leave having learned something specific.

  1. Warm-up (10–15 min): joint mobility, BJJ-specific movement (shrimping, bridging, technical stand-ups), breathing.
  2. Technique (25–30 min): the coach demonstrates a sequence broken into small pieces. You drill it slowly with a partner. Reps, not intensity, build skill.
  3. Positional sparring (10 min, optional): starting from a specific position, both partners work the technique in context. Lower intensity than live rolling.
  4. Live rolling (15–20 min, optional): full-resistance sparring with rotating partners. Beginners are not expected to participate until they're ready.
  5. Wind-down: stretch, breathe, recover.

Classes run roughly 60–75 minutes depending on the day. See the full timetable.
